We propose a new figure of merit, the molecular gain factor, that allows to discriminate transitions accessible by QCL-pumped THz gas lasers according to their lasing potential.
The high resolution vibrational spectrum of vinyl acetylene (C2H3CCH) has been investigated in the far infrared region allowing the two energetically lowest vibrational fundamentals ν13 and ν18, and their respective hot bands, to be assigned.
We report the rotational and vibrational investigation of two polar derivatives of adamantane (C10H16), 1-cyanoadamantane (C10H15--CN) and 1-isocyanoadamantane (C10H15--NC), providing all necessary information for an active search of these species in space.
